MASTER IN CONSERVATION OF DIGITAL DOCUMENTS

The University of Calabria activates a second level Master’s program in DIGITAL DOCUMENT PRESERVATION. The aim of the Master is to train a new professional figure, the DIGITAL DOCUMENT PRESERVATOR, or a manager of the document chain responsible for organizing and managing secure processes for the protection and conservation of digital documents and more generally of digital resources in the public and private organizations, capable of guaranteeing, over time, through effective and safe procedures, the maintenance, the possibility of use and the probative value. The Master creates a new professional figure, the Responsible for the Conservation of digital documents, mandatory for the Public Administration and for private entities that operate as Accredited Conservatories, with highly innovative skills. This profile is expressly provided for by art. 44, paragraph 1-bis, d.lg.n. 82/2005 and by art. 6 paragraph 5 of the Prime Ministerial Decree of 3 December 2013 – Technical rules on the conservation system pursuant to articles 20, paragraphs 3 and 5-bis, 23-ter, paragraph 4, 43, paragraphs 1 and 3, 44, 44-bis and 71, paragraph 1, of the Digital Administration Code pursuant to Legislative Decree n. 82 of 2005. The professional figure is also present in the ISTAT CP among the examples of professions related to the management of documents and information with coding (2.5.4.5.1.). Applications for admission to the course, to be carried out with the online procedure available at https://unical.esse3.cineca.it/, must be sent by Wednesday 9 January 2019 at the latest. ‘sending of detailed curriculum vitae and declaration of any other qualifications. These attachments to the application, filled in the appropriate forms available at the addresses www.unical.it/lise and www.labdoc.it, must be received no later than 17.00 on Thursday 10 January 2019 (the postmark is not authentic) at the University of Calabria, Department of Languages and Educational Sciences, via P. Bucci – 87036 Rende (CS), Cubo 20 / B, 4th floor. The offices will be open from Monday to Thursday from 9.00 to 13.00 and from 15.00 to 17.00 and on Friday from 9.00 to 13.00.

Given the availability of some places, it is possible to produce an out-of-term enrollment application for the second level Master’s Degree in Conservator of digital documents a.a. 2018-2019. To register, use the application form for registration after the deadline and the related attachments made available on this page.
Other information
The course will last n. 1,500 hours, including individual study hours, equal to 60 ECTS to be carried out in 12 months, of which n. 210 hours (30 credits) of lectures, n. 100 hours (10 CFU) of FAD, n. 300 hours (12 credits) of on the job training and project writing, n. 200 hours (8 credits) for the final paper.
The selection will take place only if the applications received exceed the number of 40 students.
Start of the course: 1 February 2019 (with interruption from 1 to 31 August). The Master’s activities will end by February 2020.
