Clinical Record Recovery Intervention from Former Psychiatric Hospitals
(September 2017-September 2018)

Objectives: recovery of the medical records of the former psychiatric hospital {OP) of Reggio Calabria, by cleaning and disinfestation in an anoxic chamber and subsequent sorting of medical records; verification of the compatibility of the data collection tools used in the CNR Alpha project and those necessary to populate the project database; population of the portal Cards to be linked with data from the first 550 medical records of the former psychiatric hospital of Girifalco {CZ) relating to the period
1881-1894.

Why: data sharing within the “Tie Cards” project coordinated by the Directorate General of Archives.

How: recovery and transfer of the archival patrimony of the ex OP of Reggio Calabria to the premises of the Institute of Informatics and Telematics in Cosenza (permission n. 1257 of S / 06/2015 issued by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and tourism, Archival Superintendency of Calabria and Campania); collection and analysis of socio-economic and health data insistent on medical records and their filing in the “Cards to be bound” portal, as per expression of interest (note n. SA-CCA 1496 of 22.04.2016).
