(eAsy inteLligent service Platform far Healty Aging) – National Research Program 2011-2018- Aging Project: Technological and molecular innovations for improving the health of the elderly
(January 2016-December 2018)

Objectives: development of a system, conscious and intelligent, for the collection and processing of information on the lifestyles of patients suffering from Alzheimer’s disease (AD), starting from different data provided both by healthcare professionals and deriving from a series of sensors and devices non-invasive. In addition, the combination of clinical data and data from the historical archives of the former psychiatric hospitals has allowed the reconstruction of the genealogical evolution of contemporary neuropsychiatric genetic diseases, to determine in a probabilistic way the possible manifestation of the disease.
Why: ALPHA provides doctors with new quantitative and semantic information on patient behavior which, together with medical data, will increase accuracy and reliability in monitoring and assessing the patient’s health. Doctors are supported by an ad hoc suite of interface systems for the analysis of captured metadata, to improve the management of personalized care plans and the interaction with patients and healthcare professionals.
How: definition of a method and an intelligent automatic system to collect, process and present information related to the lifestyle and behavioral disorders of Alzheimer’s patients; define and develop non-invasive tools for the objective detection and measurement of physiological parameters and environmental stimuli related to behavior in AD patients; define and develop models of representation of behavioral disorders in AD patients to support personalized care planning; codify identification of anomalous behaviors through the LOINC standard or the unique coding and description of clinical and laboratory observations to facilitate the sharing and exchange of results of diagnostic investigations between information systems of different health structures; the digitization, analysis and extraction of clinical data from historical medical records, kept at the CSM of Girifalco and the DSM of Reggio Calabria, for the definition and construction of risk profiles for behavioral disorders.
