In December 2003, the Center of Excellence for the testing of systems for
interactive distance learning in the field of Economy and Knowledge Management was
created (funding by the Ministry of Communications, December 2003). The project
presented by the Documentation Lab – Head of Research Prof. Roberto Guarasci
and technical coordinator prof. Anna Rovella – placed second in Italy out of
about eighty projects submitted and of which seven were funded, ahead of
prestigious and internationally renowned universities and research centers. The Center presents
two distinct areas of interest: Knowledge Management and Business Intelligence.
The themes are also the subject of training activities aimed at young graduates
and employees of the local public administration.
